BBC opportunity for West Yorkshire vloggers

Time is limited to act on this, but it sounds a great opportunity (thanks to Karen Mitchell, School Careers Co-ordinator for passing on details); there's a video which hasn't embedded below at the source site: http://www.bbc.co.uk/careers/shortform:

Shortform

The Brief

We are looking for a new generation of talented people who can make great short-form videos. We want to find the vloggers and digital content creators of the future by giving people from West Yorkshire an opportunity to showcase their work on a BBC digital platform.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the BBC to work with you, creating bite-sized video content that is inventive, provocative, intelligent, attention-grabbing and funny!
You do need to stand out from the crowd, but you don’t need experience to get involved.  Mentoring and masterclasses will be awarded to the freshest personalities with the greatest ideas. We’ll give you industry support to develop and create a final piece of short form digital content to showcase to BBC decision makers on March 28th in Leeds.

How do I get involved?

We’ll hold sessions in Leeds and Bradford locations to explain what makes good short form digital content. Participants will then have the opportunity to use simple video equipment to record a funny or thought-provoking message. You can do this alone or with friends and your recording should be no longer than two minutes. Be quick! Places are limited so book a recording session by emailing us with your preferred dates and time at shortform@bbc.co.uk

What happens next?

We’ll review all the recordings with a panel of four audience members aged 18-35 years old. They’ll help us choose the freshest personalities that have excited and interested us all the most!
For those who reach the next stage we’ll arrange a video-call with you to find out more about what makes you stand out from the crowd. Those with the best ideas will then be offered a masterclass and mentoring from industry professionals to create a further piece of digital content. This will be showcased to decision makers from BBC Leeds, BBC Three, BBC Sport and BBC Children’s on 28th March in Leeds.
Successful applicants could see their short form content developed further, with a possible launch for the best content on a BBC digital platform.

Who can take part?

To get involved you must be aged 18 or over.
There is no fee to enter and no expenses will be paid. Entry is only open to people living in West Yorkshire.
This is a pilot project that the BBC intends to roll out to other cities across the UK at a later date.
